Purpose:  Allows an agency to extend an employee's probationary period for an additional specified period, not to exceed 1040 hours.  Extension must occur before an employee has worked one thousand forty (1,040) hours or two thousand eighty (2,080) hours for peace officers.   

When this change reason is used, the employee's current probationary hours are set to zero and the probation completion date will be reset to blank. 

Note:  For peace officers, the automatic CA will not generate until they have reached the 2080 hours based on the class code, so a CA would need to be submitted in IPOPS when they reach 1040 hours.
